Long-serving former Boston Mayor Thomas Menino has died. He was 71. A spokeswoman says Menino died yesterday morning in the company of his family and friends. He had been diagnosed with advanced cancer in February, shortly after leaving office. His body will lie in state in Boston City Hall of Sunday and a private funeral service is set for Monday.
