CHICOPEE MAY GET NEW POLICE CHIEF

The State Civil Service Commission has ordered the city of Chicopee to vacate the appointment of Thomas Charette because then Mayor Michael Bissonette showed personal and professional bias. The appointment was challenged by deputy chief William Jebb who said that he scored higher and was the most qualified candidate. Charette isn't commenting. Neither is the mayor to the media. On his facebook page he said that he picked Charette to change the culture of the department. Charette must vacate the post by July 1.
