WILBRAHAM, Mass. (AP) _ Funeral services are planned for Amy Lord in her hometown of Wilbraham.
The 24-year-old woman was fatally stabbed last week in Boston. Police said she was kidnapped in South Boston, where she had been living, and forced to withdraw cash from several ATMs before she was killed. Her body was found last Tuesday in a city park.
Police Commissioner Ed Davis has characterized 28-year-old Edwin Alemany, who was arrested in connection with two non-fatal attacks on women in the same South Boston neighborhood last week, as a ``person of interest'' in Lord's killing.
Davis and other city officials met with hundreds of community residents Monday night to discuss public safety in the wake of the attacks.
Lord's funeral is scheduled for Tuesday. Hundreds attended a wake for the young woman in Springfield on Monday.
